Jane's Addiction, Dog Of Mystery
Feb. at City Gardens, Trenton, NJ
The opening band was a bunch of nobody mutants from Central Jersey who churned out about a half-hour of first-class acid-scum. Not art-class psych (Loop, latterday Spacemen 3, etc.) but knuckle-dragging brain rot. The return of drug rock.
Jane's Addiction was a bunch overblown hokum, churning out sub-standard Zep riffs thru a cloud of smoke while lead singer Perry (easily the stupidest looking white guy with dreads) danced around, enamoured with himself and the self-imortant mulch he was spewing. A pre-packaged Next Big Thing, kill them now.
